Because South African Olive Oil continues to win awards in Italy as the most prestigious Olive Oils, it is vital to visit the top Olive Oil Estates and to taste their Oils and Wine, take in a cellar tour and dine at an assortment of restaurants in the winelands.

The west coast offers up the traditional cuisine of Cape fishing villagers in Lambert's Bay's, Langebaan and Saldanha where indigenous culinary culture comes to the fore. Cheryl was born in Cape Town, A destination known for its UNIQUE experiences, magnificent scenery & history.

She has travelled extensively throughout Europe, England and the USA. Enjoyed a trip on the Princess Cruise Line for 18 days from Brazil across the Atlantic to Dakar and down the West Coast of Africa. Her travels have also taken her on the Rovos Rail around South Africa, and she delighted in the travels with the Rovos Air Safari to Botswana, Kariba, Zanzibar, Ngorogoro Crater, Zambia, Victoria Falls and Zimbabwe.

Her love of Cape Town has made her a Top Tour Guide in the region, having extensive knowledge of the colourful history of the Cape, as well as her keen interest in viticulture and the wine industry. Her portfolio includes Public Relations, having worked for Fuji Film & Olympus Cameras, a position which involved a tremendous amount of travelling in the Cape area – up to wonderful places like Springbok, Port Elizabeth & Upington. This unique travel opportunity added to her knowledge and passion for the Cape as a whole.

Having completed the Cape Wine Academy Certificate Wine Course and marketing a range of South African wines in Florida, USA where she lived for over 3 years, re-kindled her interest in the wine routes in which she now specializes. The Difference Between A Good & A Great Tour Guide

On starting the tour

A good tour guide will introduce herself, welcome you, and give you an introduction of what to expect on the tour.

A great tour guide will also take the time to get to know you – where you’re from, why you’re visiting, your interests – and if there are others on the tour, she will introduce everyone on the tour to each other. The best guides spend the tour getting to know the guests on the tour that day and not in an intrusive way but in a way that shows genuine interest. We also prefer to give our clients the option to select which tastings they would like to do (many tasting rooms offer various tasting options), or often our clients prefer to share a tasting. Tasting fees vary from winery to winery, but could be from no charge, R15pp, R25pp up to R60pp or more (these higher fees would be for e.g. chocolate and wine pairing, etc.)
